September 25, 2009, Newsletter Issue #53: Helping Others & Yourself At The Same Time

Tip of the Week

In becoming a massage therapist, you have the ability to help others deal with stress and physical pain, whether it be from chronic ailments or tension in the workplace. What few people seem to realize, however, is that a major benefit of learning to be a massage therapist is learning how to take care of yourself.

How can you expect others to trust that you can help them when you cannot help yourself? By learning how the mind and body work together, how to relieve pain and stress in others, you learn how to do the same for yourself.

There are methods of self-massage that can be learned, and you can also recognize signs that would indicate it is time to indulge in a little massage therapy yourself. Becoming a massage therapist can improve your own quality of life, not just financially and professionally, but physically and emotionally, just as your clients will come to appreciate.

Massage therapy schools can teach you how to help others and how to live a healthier and happier life while doing it.
